Congregational Development - Project Grants Group

NEW - download this brochure about Project Grants.

Grants are targeted for new initiatives in congregational development or enrichment. To be considered for a grant, congregations must first complete a formal application outlining the amount and purpose of the funds sought.

Grants are made to individual parishes. Funds for diocesan projects are typically available from the appropriate committee or commission category in the diocesan budget.

Funds for such matters as expansion of facilities, modifications to comply with statutory mandates, etc., are available from other sources, and are typically not what these grants are designed to support.

A maximum of $1,500 may be granted to any one project in any given year, and only in exceptional circumstances will there be more than one grant to a single congregation in a given year. Requests for funds to support or enlarge existing projects will be given less weight than new projects that serve as demonstrations and models to other congregations. Projects in which the congregation will also participate financially will be considered more favorably than those without such support. The parish’s response to the diocesan fair share request is also reviewed prior to making grants.
